The AIG crisis appears over. The US Federal Reserve has come to the rescue, announcing a two-year line of credit worth $US85 billion ($105.6 billion). The loan will allow the world’s largest insurer to restructure without engaging in a fire sale of assets.

Local operations of AIG haven’t been affected by the company’s financial woes.
