Absa to reward customers with R120 million in cashback and prizes this summer
Absa, a leading Pan-African bank, in partnership with Visa – a global digital payments network – are rewarding customers ahead of the festive season with opportunities to win exciting prizes including cash, vehicles and real rewards cashback for loyalty programme members with the launch of a vibrant new campaign, Absa Summer of Rewards.
From 15 October 2025 to 15 January 2026, Absa Rewards members can earn their share of R120 million in real cashback depending on their Rewards tier. By simply swiping their Absa Visa Debit or Credit Card, paying for transactions using contactless payments or participating digital wallets, including Samsung Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Garmin Pay and Fitbit Pay.
Alicia Raynard, Executive: Absa Rewards at Absa Personal and Private Banking, explains that because South African summers coincide with the school holidays and festive season, families have more expenses to cover over this period for vacation, travel and leisure activities. “During these months, there is a clear uptick in the amount of card activity due to the increase in consumer transactions. At Absa, we want to reward our customers every time they swipe to make the festive season even more celebratory. This campaign is our way to thank Absa Rewards customers for their loyalty during the year and enable them to end the year on a memorable note.”
The cashback return is only the start. The highly anticipated Absa Swiper competition returns to various radio stations with even more exciting prize giveaways. Listeners could win cash prizes daily and stand a chance to win one of 10 all new Jaecoo J5 vehicles by entering via WhatsApp on 067 384 0022. These 10 winners will also receive three months complementary insurance from Absa Activate.
Continuing the rewarding summer with Absa, the bank’s Rewards customers will have even more reasons to shop-and-save during Black Friday Week. From Monday, 24 November to Monday, 2 December 2025, depending on their Rewards tier, Absa customers can receive up to 100% in real cash back when they purchase at participating partners: Checkers, Shoprite, Pick n Pay, Woolworths, Sasol, Dischem and Food Lovers market. This offer is exclusive to customers who pay using contactless payment options or shop online.
