Coming to the party

Short term insurance advisor First Link has developed its second intake of learnership candidates, in terms of the SETA learnership programme.

First Link is believed to be one of the first brokers in the short-term insurance industry to fast-track learners through a comprehensive learnership programme to NQF Level 4.

Six candidates formed the initial intake. Now a further four learners have been accepted into the ground-breaking programme. They are Patricia Khumalo, Patience Maetse, Faith Gumede and Velaphi Mavuso.

“Graduates’ from the first programme intake have all been given positions within First Link.

Clive Cumberlege, Human Resources Director at First Link said: “The learnership programme is proving a valuable tool in the identification and development of a wide array of skills.

“We took a lead by embracing the learnership concept at an early date and taking the industry’s first learners through to qualification at NQF Level 4.

“We are extremely encouraged by results to date and are determined to maintain the rate of progress. We see significant benefits for First Link and the sector at large as this new generation makes its presence felt.”
