Thebe Reed Exhibitions makes wealth planning and investment easy!

09 March 2015 Brad Hook, Thebe Reed Exhibitions

Thebe Reed Exhibitions has rebranded and expanded the scope of its successful annual Investment and Retirement Expo, to meet the changing demands of an increasingly investment-savvy market.

The expo will now be named the Investment & Property Expo, offering an increased range of long-term lifestyle planning solutions and investment opportunities to a wider audience.

“This event is now moving into its fifth year – a great feat for any organically created exhibition in South Africa,” says Brad Hook, Business Development Director, Thebe Reed Exhibitions.

“During the past four years, the visitor audience tracking and polls indicated growing interest in investment opportunities from younger visitors too. By taking stock of where the successes in previous years have come from, and overlaying these findings with our visitor audience tracking, the expo has evolved to better meet the needs of both visitors and exhibitors,” says Hook.

Research revealed that visitors as young as in their mid-20s were attending the expo to seek investment and financial planning advice to help them meet their current lifestyle needs, as well as to help them plan for their retirement years. Older visitors wanted insight into maximising their existing investment portfolios, and many expo visitors sought information on investment and lifestyle properties. Expo visitors said they wanted to engage with financial advisors, discover a broad range of investment opportunities and lifestyle products, and get expert investment planning advice – all under one roof.

Promising to deliver a roadmap to help visitors achieve their lifestyle goals, the Investment & Property Expo 2015 will feature financial and investment services, lifestyle products, properties for families, holidays or retirement, as well as commercial and residential properties for business people or investors. Workshops will also be staged in both the Investment and Property exhibition areas, giving visitors trends updates and advice.

In addition to expanding the expo’s scope, Thebe Reed Exhibitions will co-locate The Business Entrepreneurship and Franchise Expo with the Investment & Property Expo under the umbrella ‘Secure Your Future Week’, to give South Africans one-stop access to a broad base of information and opportunities to earn wealth, grow their wealth, invest well and work towards the lifestyle goals.

“We have begun to forge new relationships in the constituencies that we serve and through these efforts we will no doubt be up-weighting the product mix, seminar content and visitor experience at the 2015 show,” he says. “Not only will we be seeking to ensure we fulfil our promise as the leading exhibition organiser in Africa by connecting our exhibiting clients face-to-face with the absolute best visitors, we will be working round the clock to ensure our visiting clients are exposed to the best cross-section of investment and property advice and options.”

Hook says a top team is developing the Expo content and adding a B2B component to the event, to ensure that it delivers significant value to both visitors and exhibitors.

QUESTION

The South African authorities are hard at work to ensure the country is removed from the global Financial Action Task Force grey-list by February or June 2025. What do you think about their ongoing efforts?

ANSWER

But what about the BRICS?
Compliance burden remains, grey-list or not.
End-2025 exit is too optimistic.
Grey-list is the new normal.
Too little, too late.
