Resolution Downwind Dash takes Langebaan by storm

21 January 2010 | People and Companies | Events | Resolution

The Resolution Down Wind Dash, the world’s largest wind and kite surfing event is set to take place on the first day of sufficient wind on either the 23/24 January 2010 or the holdover weekend 6/7 February 2010. The event, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, attracts leading professional, amateur and beginner wind and kiting enthusiasts from around the globe and forms part of the annual world tour programme.

Winning the dash is about the achievement. It’s the sense of satisfaction and the honour of having your plaque on the legendary wheel trophy, alongside some of the world’s finest sailors. Matt Swart is a well known local hero who has won the event five times. The dash favours the local sailor, and offers a great challenge to anyone up for the adventure of exploring the Langebaan lagoon.

As title sponsor of the event, Resolution recognises the healthy lifestyle of the adrenalin seeking adventurer and is proud to be associated with the heritage and caliber of the Dash. “Resolution’s involvement in the Dash is aimed at promoting a healthy and active lifestyle amongst our members and the public at large”, said Dawid Smit, Acting Principal Officer of Resolution Health Medical Scheme”, and we hope to continue this association for years to come.”
