05 August 2013 | People and Companies | Events | Nedbank

The 2013 series of the Nedbank Business Seminars take place from August 19 - 28, bringing the latest insights into growing a business

In its continued effort to accelerate sustainable growth in the SME sector, Nedbank invites small to medium businesses to its annual Business Seminars with one of South Africa’s leading small business development experts, Pavlo Phitidis.

The Nedbank Small Business Seminars form part of the bank’s Banking and Beyond™ initiatives, and it seeks to provide compelling and practical advice for businesses, enabling them to be agile during the growth stage and more importantly, accelerate their businesses to the next level. The seminars will be held in Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban and Cape Town – through a structured journey of engagement that will focus on four key elements; building your business into an asset of value, pitching your business, networking success and deal making facilitated by Phitidis.

‘We are delighted to host the Nedbank Business Seminars for the ninth consecutive year, enabling over 40000 entrepreneurs through training and development. As a bank for the entrepreneur, we continue to play a significant role in creating an enabling environment for small businesses to succeed. This means empowering business owners with practical solutions and advice, allowing them time to focus on where the rubber hits the road, growing their businesses. We are truly thrilled to have Pavlo Phitidis as the moderator and advisor in this year’s leg, as he brings a wealth of knowledge and invaluable expertise,’ says Sibongiseni Ngundze: Managing Executive of Nedbank Retail Relationship Banking.

Delegates can expect to walk away with clarity of purpose, insights into how to grow their businesses to the next level, and defined steps against which to grow their businesses into valuable assets. This will be turned into practice and delegates will walk out with a fresh, new and relevant network, the ability to pitch to that network and do deals to make partnering for business growth happen.

‘As a business owner, the most precious thing that you have is time. I look forward to turning your time into value by not only talking business but by working with you to make it happen at this seminar and beyond,’ says Phitidis.

‘This is another way Nedbank Votes Small Business™ and partners with small businesses for growth for a greater South Africa. Vote Small Business™ is an initiative aimed at creating an environment in which small businesses can thrive,’ concludes Ngundze.

Business owners are encouraged to register for the Nedbank Small Business Seminars on http://www.simplybiz.co.za/. Seminar proceeds will be donated to Enactus SA, a non-profit organisation that establishes programmes at universities that enable students to apply business concepts to develop community outreach projects.
