Hundreds of insurance industry professionals will soon converge on Atlanta for the National African American Insurance Association's (NAAIA) 18th Annual National Conference & Empowerment Summit, themed "Change, Challenge and Opportunity," on October 18-21, 2016 at the Marriott Marquis.

In addition to a roster of dynamic speakers and engaging networking opportunities, the conference offers attendees - representing all insurance disciplines, from entry-level to C-suite, agency owners and producers - workshops and executive presentations geared toward enhancing professional development; business-building, growth and profit; improving leadership aptitude; and individualized career coaching.

The conference will include keynote messages from Ron Busby, president and CEO of U.S. Black Chambers, and Ronco Johnson, president and CEO of L.R. Johnson & Associates; an interactive Town Hall Meeting on "Diversity & Inclusion" and "The African-American Independent Agent"; a stellar panel of the industry's top women executives who will discuss "Black Women: Ready to Lead"; as well as engaging discussions on cyber risk management, social media, technology and personal brand enhancement.

The conference culminates with a focus on insurance careers and will include a Career Fair designed to reach out to both the seasoned or transitioning insurance professional as well as the next generation of industry talent. During the Career Fair, NAAIA will launch its National Talent Development Contest during which students from Morehouse, the University of Georgia, Georgia State University and Clark Atlanta University will compete for scholarship and internship opportunities per recommendations on a case study for an insurance agency's expansion into cyber risks. Each University's student competitors will be supported by a defined group of corporate advocates from Chubb, Marsh, CNA and Zurich, respectively.

Sponsors of the NAAIA 18th Annual Conference & Empowerment Summit include Aon, AIG, Axis, Chubb, Cigna, CNA, Country Financial, Grange, The Hartford, HCSC/Blue Cross Blue Shield, IIABA, Liberty Mutual, Marsh, MetLife, NCCI, and Zurich; with the support of strategic partners, including the Big I, ACORD, the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA), and the Latin American Association of Insurance Agencies (LAAIA).
