Mteto Nyati to deliver keynote address at AIE 2025

The Insurance Institute of South Africa (IISA) and the South African Insurance Association (SAIA) are pleased to announce that Mteto Nyati will be the keynote speaker at the 2025 African Insurance Exchange.

Nyati is the executive chairman of BSG, a leading South African consulting and technology firm specialising in strategy execution. He also serves as chairman of Eskom and has held high-profile leadership roles throughout his career, including group chief executive of Altron and CEO of MTN South Africa.

A thought leader and mentor to top executives, Nyati is the author of the #1 bestseller, Betting on a Darkie, a compelling memoir about his journey from shopkeeper’s son to business leader in both local and multinational corporations.

His contributions to business and leadership have been widely recognised. In 2021, he received an honorary doctorate in IT Management from the University of Johannesburg’s College of Business and Economics. He is also a Yale University World Fellow and holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of KwaZulu-Natal.

The 2025 African Insurance Exchange takes place at Sun City from 27 to 30 July. Under this year’s theme, The Baobab Advantage: Multifaceted Growth and Continuous Evolution, the conference will unpack strategies for thriving in a volatile environment.
