How Caring Impacts, a Business’ Bottom Line: Liberty Leading-Edge Symposium 2024

The Liberty Leading-Edge Symposium 2024, South Africa’s leading business event focusing on corporate and employee benefits, returns to Johannesburg on 15 November 2024 at the Sandton Convention Centre.

This important event will explore the often overlooked but critical role ‘Care’ plays in driving business success and how SMME’s can harness care within their businesses to create sustainability and growth.

“Beyond the spreadsheets and number-crunching traditionally associated in creating and building a business, there lies an intangible, yet equally essential element, called ‘Care’ that correlates directly to a business’s sustainability and profitability,” says Lindi Monyae, Managing Executive of Liberty Corporate Benefits. “While care is often seen as a ‘soft’ element, we’re making a solid business case for it as a fundamental component of any organisation's long-term success. “Caring for employees and customers is not just about doing good - it’s a strategic move that leads to profitability and growth.”

The Liberty Leading-Edge Symposium, now in its third year, challenges traditional business notions by highlighting the importance of people in business success and strengthening equity within the employee benefits sector. Hosted by Liberty Group, this year’s symposium will centre around the main theme of ‘Maximise the Effect of Care’ and will explore three main themes:

• Care in Context: Industry experts will provide insights into crucial topics like retirement reforms, including the Two-Pot Retirement system, and explore how these changes will impact businesses.
• Care in Action: This theme will address how incorporating care into business strategies can boost SMMEs' bottom lines and accelerate growth in a competitive market.
• Leading with Care: Discussions will explore how leaders can cultivate a supportive and compassionate environment, driving successful business decisions with care as a core value.

The event is ideally suited for SMME employers looking to harness ‘Care’ as part of their business growth strategies, Key C-Suite Decision Makers like CFOs, CEOs and HR Directors alongside Corporate Financial Advisors and Industry Stakeholders like Trustees and Principal Officers.

Headline speakers at the event include Mteto Nyati (Eskom Chair), Jorge Mendes (CEO, Cell C), Siya Xuza (Galactic Holdings), Dr. Alistair Mokoena (Best-selling Author & Thought-Leader), Ravi Naidoo (CEO, Youth Employment Services), and social entrepreneur Craig Rivett.
