Insurance Telematics Conference 2015

14 May 2015 | People and Companies | Events | TCI

Trade Conferences International (TCI), well-known for organising industry-specific events, hosted the Insurance Telematics Conference on 6 & 7 May 2015 at Indaba Hotel in Fourways – Johannesburg. This two-day networking-orientated event welcomed various professionals from sectors that included motor insurance, telematics technology, software & mobile operations, tracking & fleet management and insurance consultancies.

A token of gratitude goes out to all the conference speakers for taking the time out of their schedules to address the event. From the feed-back received from attendees, TCI can ascertain that all attendees of the inaugural Insurance Telematics Conference gained invaluable information that “is essential in developing this innovative technology in the industry,” detailed project manager, Akhona Makupula.

According to one of the event attendees from Nedbank Insurance, Hardy Ncube, “the variety in speakers and their perspective on telematics was great”, as the audience was meant to be an opportunity for new business alliances to be formed and increase networking between the industry experts.

The issue of insurance telematics data was the highlight of the event. With much still to be done by insurers in the field, Makupula said, “the two top topics that raised interest in the audience were Telematically determining driver risk profile and Pushing UBI forward with the right telematics data.”

Best known for delivering ground-breaking information impacting on the daily operations in the banking and insurance sectors, attendees of TCI events always feel more empowered to deal with their ever-changing and evolving industries. 100% of the attendees indicated that the conference was worth attending, 94% said the conference was good compared to other conference of its nature and 82% said the conference met their expectations – “The large number of speakers and their different points of view was excellent” said one attendee, Marty Epstein, of Discovery Insure.
