Glacier by Sanlam positioned for success by offering the ‘best of both worlds’

Glacier started 2017 with a national intermediary roadshow to showcase our new positioning and investment capability, and to demonstrate how partnering with us can help intermediary practices navigate the current market environment.
2016 was a year of exciting transformation for Sanlam Personal Finance (SPF). Earlier in the year SPF decided to implement a new business model to best position it for further growth and improved focus around specific client needs.
Within this business model, Glacier is now responsible for all single-premium investment business in SPF, with a key focus on investment solutions representing both the Glacier and Sanlam brands. While the Glacier investment solution set will remain as is, adding the Sanlam life investment products to our offering allows us to meet the investment needs of a broader market, including clients who seek certainty amid the current volatility.
Through Glacier, intermediaries will be able to offer clients a range of investment solutions including guarantees, traditional life investments and platform investment products. The changes also enable us to be more innovative in our product design and to provide the most suitable solutions to meet the varied needs of the conservative and more aggressive investor. Many investors may benefit from using a market-linked investment in combination with a guaranteed product – it doesn’t always have to be an either-or decision.
