The Financial Planning Institute (FPI) is set to host several local and international experts in various fields at this year’s annual convention to be held on 20-21 June 2012 at the Sandton Convention Centre.
The much-anticipated annual event has established a reputation for itself as a forum for provocative and informative debate and discussions featuring some of the foremost thought leaders and motivational speakers of our times. The largest annual event on the South African financial planning calendar attracts just under 1 000 delegates each year, making it a premium business networking platform.
The keynote sessions from industry experts will cover a wide range of financial planning topics and includes practical workshops and a choice of informative panel discussions. An exhibition will be run for the full duration of the convention, affording companies the opportunity to showcase their products.
The 2012 Annual FPI Convention programme includes presentations by three international speakers including:
- Dr. David Rock, one of the thought leaders in the human performance coaching field – will show you how to transform your thinking and performance through neuroleadership.
- UK Strategy consultant Phil Billingham will share useful tips on building better and more profitable relationships with clients.
- Motivational speaker and internationally recognised professional surfer - Shaun Tomson will share the story of his success.
- Celebrated mountaineer Sibusiso Vilane will challenge you to reach the top of your mountains, whatever they are while Barrie Brambley will disrupt the way you think about the future and provide insights into what social media can do for your business.
- Scenario planner Clem Sunter will provide a rare gaze into the future. Other expert speakers include Errol Meyer, Jerry Botha, Walter Geach, Gerhardt Meyer, John Campbell, Kim Potgieter and Marius Botha.
Godfrey Nti, CEO of the FPI, says he is especially excited that this year’s convention follows on such important FPI initiatives as the launch of FPI’s new strategy and introduction of a designated consumer advocate to educate consumers on the benefits of financial planning as well as the importance of seeking advice from CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professionals.
“In addition, we are proud to announce that we have recently been admitted as an affiliate member of the Organisation for Economic Development’s (OECD) International Network on Financial Education.”
“This, coupled with our representation on National Treasury’s Consumer Education Steering Committee, not only creates a strategic partnership for the FPI and its members but in turn also helps put FPI at the forefront of re-inventing the financial services sector to serve all South Africans better, “says Nti.
This year’s message to delegates is: “Put yourself a decade ahead of the pack and learn how you can adapt your mind set and embrace change to succeed in an ever-changing world.”
