FISA conference to focus on regulation and compliance

28 August 2014 FISA

The Fiduciary Institute of Southern Africa (FISA) will hold its fourth annual conference on 18 September 2014 at the Wanderers Club in Johannesburg.

The conference is fast becoming known among both practitioners and academics as an event with high quality speakers and presentations. This year, topics range from the compliance burden and ethics, to the challenges of layperson co-executors and co-trustees, and issues arising from a “digital estate”. The Chief Master of the High Court, Adv Lester Basson, will also present a paper.

Louis van Vuren, Chairman of the FISA Education Committee, says that the conference will be of interest to anyone involved in fiduciary practice, including many financial planners. FISA members, as well as FPI members, are eligible for 7 CPD points for attending the conference.

The conference will be an all-day event. Details and applications can be found on the FISA website at www.fidsa.org.za.
