Engage Forum on the impact of NHI on public and private healthcare systems

Join prominent healthcare industry experts at the “Engage Forum” for a panel discussion on the topic: “How do we create an environment conducive to integrating the public and private healthcare systems in a way that improves access to affordable, quality healthcare in South Africa?” on May 28, 2009 at the Bytes Conference Centre in Midrand, from 09h00 until 14:00.

Dr Sipho Senabe, Chief Director for Employee Health and Wellness at the Department of Public Service and Administration, will discuss how employee wellness could be a strategic framework for implementation of the National Health Insurance.

Roly Buys, Director: Funder Relations & Contracting for Medi-Clinic will provide private sector insights into the anticipated National Health Insurance roll-out.

Nolwazi Gasa, Health Specialist at the Development Bank of Southern Africa, will comment on the progress of The Roadmap for the Reform of the South African Health System.

Esmé Prins, Director Corporate and Private Sector at Benguela Health, will give the latest update on legislative developments in the health sector.

The event will be facilitated by Liz Still, author of “Healthcare in South Africa”.

Hosted by Metropolitan Health Group and Qualsa, the “Engage Forum” is held quarterly to encourage dialogue between roleplayers in South Africa’s ever-changing healthcare landscape.
