#AIE2022 sponsors voice excitement

14 June 2022 Myra Knoesen

There is no doubt that the African Insurance Exchange (AIE) conference is one of the biggest insurance conferences in South Africa, and one of the top events for many on the insurance industry calendar.

This year, the hybrid edition will be hosted live, at Sun City, as well as virtually for attendees from across the globe, on 25 and 26 July.

Top speakers, facilitators and panellists

This year’s AIE conference will bring together a wide range of top speakers, facilitators and panellists from around the world and there will be a number of key themes unpacked at the conference.

The theme of AIE 2022 is 'Resurgence. Resilience. Revival.' The world has changed, and it is now time to move forward and be more resilient than ever before. As an industry, we have the opportunity to rise to new heights and build a better future.

The theme also engenders a far broader range of content to appeal to delegates across the industry spectrum – including life, wealth management, healthcare, short-term, employee benefits and a whole lot more – and applies to service providers and intermediaries alike.

Involvement in AIE 2022

A few of the AIE 2022 sponsors commented about their involvement with AIE 2022, why they believe the conference is beneficial to the industry and what they are looking forward to at #AIE2022.

Guidewire is a platinum sponsor for AIE2022 and will be sponsoring the podcast branding.

“Guidewire is proud to be a platinum sponsor for the African Insurance Exchange 2022 and attend the event in person this year. As a leading global software company that is entirely focused on serving the short-term insurance industry, we recognise how important it is to stay abreast of the opportunities and challenges facing each unique territory and market. This event affords us a great opportunity to meet with existing customers as well as expand our networking and knowledge,” said Ally Redding, Guidewire Software Senior Account Executive - UK Major Accounts and South Africa.

“Our history in South Africa spans back to 2014, and we have continued to grow our customer footprint during this time. Given our commitment and focus on innovation and the implementation of our SaaS offering in South Africa in 2023, we felt that this aligned well with the AIE’s agenda on the risks of today and the future of the industry. We are really looking forward to being back together in person and building relationships with those attending the conference, as well as finding out more about your focus,” Redding.

Old Mutual Insure is a gold sponsor for AIE2022 and will be sponsoring the meeting hub, which is where delegates can engage and connect.

“We are excited to sponsor the Business Hub this year, as the space allows valuable interaction with our stakeholders. We’re looking forward to being right at the centre of all the exhibition hall activity,” said Soul Abraham – Chief Executive: Retail Insurance at Old Mutual Insure.

“We are particularly excited about participating in this year’s conference as it will provide significant insights regarding the future of insurance. We will also have the opportunity to connect with our industry peers and Old Mutual Insure customers, after having to distance ourselves from physical interaction over the last two years due to the pandemic and have meaningful interactions with delegates in person and engage in topical discussions with industry experts. It is a great platform to display our resilience and foster connections that will drive our business and the industry forward.

Old Mutual Insure is excited to be part of the conference and to connect with you! Make sure to stop by the Business Hub, where we will be ready to discuss how we can continue to do great things, every day, in the insurance industry,” added Abraham.

Allianz, a silver sponsor for AIE 2022, will be sponsoring a speaker. Allianz has been sponsoring the African Insurance Exchange (AIE) at Sun City since 2013. Some of the past speakers at the conference included Allianz Group CEO Oliver Bäte, Allianz Group Chief Economist, Ludovic Subran and Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) SE Board Member, Henning Haagen.

“Scott Sayce, Global Head of Cyber at Allianz will be our speaker this year and we are pleased to partner, once again, with the IISA. Allianz is sponsoring the AIE conference as it enables us to secure the future of our business partners, industry and community by exploring ideas and solutions that allow the industry to be more sustainable and relevant.  AIE allows us as a company and an industry to reflect, connect, learn and grow,” said Lesiba Sethoga, Head of Marketing and Communications at Allianz in South Africa.

“Allianz is looking forward to reconnecting with business partners, the industry, the sharing of insights and thought leadership and learning from experts cross the industry.  For over 130 years Allianz helped the world prepare - not only to protect it but to open it up to the best life has to offer. Allianz looks forward to shaping a better tomorrow together with you and the industry,” concluded Lesiba.

Lloyd's, a sponsor of AIE2022, believes academic awards and achievements are important to the industry.

“Lloyd’s is proud to be a sponsor of the African Insurance Exchange conference again, this year, and provide our support for this incredible industry event for over 25 years now. The conference theme of ‘Resurgence. Resilience. Revival.’ is so relevant to our world and industry today, and how we see things at Lloyd’s as well as how we build a resilient organisation through the learnings and experiences from the previous two challenging years,” said Easvarie Naidoo, Lloyd’s General Representative and Head of Compliance, South Africa.

“We view the African Insurance Exchange conference as such an important one for the industry in Africa and, therefore, it is vital to be a part of. We value education and talent development at a high level at Lloyd’s and believe that being knowledgeable and taking up development opportunities opens up some amazing career (and other) opportunities. As such, we are delighted to be sponsoring the Academic Awards for the AIE conference and supporting individuals in their insurance careers,” added Naidoo.

“The opportunity to network and engage with the industry on current topics, issues and trends is invaluable. Lloyd’s already provides innovative and standard insurance and reinsurance solutions for Africa, but we are keen to develop our relationships to bring more risk expertise and bring more quality capacity to the African markets. Lloyd’s is committed to Africa. Our teams on the ground and in London are there to work with the local markets and distribution partners and that’s why we are so supportive of events that bring the industry together, whether virtually or physically, such as the African Insurance Exchange,” stated Naidoo.

“We are looking froward to the opportunity to network with fellow industry peers either virtually or in-person, as well as hear from some of our experts in the insurance field. An incredible opportunity to get together once again,” concluded Naidoo.
