#AIE2021 featured theme: regulation

The upcoming African Insurance Exchange will bring together a wide range of top speakers, facilitators and panellists from around the world. There will be a number of key themes unpacked at the conference, including regulation, which is the focus of this week’s newsletter.

 Under the theme of regulation, we will hear from our experts on such topics as:

The world post COVID-19
The COVID-19 pandemic has fundamentally changed the way we do business. In this session our panel explores the impact of the pandemic and how it has led to product innovation and changed policy wording and cover going forward. We will also take a look at a global perspective on reinsurance.

The future is now
In this session our panel of experts discusses how to deal with disruption caused by overregulation, policy uncertainty, and uncertain economic growth with particular reference to the state of D&O in the insurance sectors, the impact of the speed of technological change and the risk of cyber threats.

The future of data regulation
Data regulation is increasingly becoming a priority across the globe. In this session our experts discuss the challenges in legislation and regulations and the impact of new technologies such as AI and IoT on data regulation and how this fast-moving environment may be contributing to global governance failure. We will also review navigating tax and legal matters in response to COVID-19.

The 2021 African Insurance Exchange will take place on 2 and 3 August. As we communicated recently, the conference format has been changed to online only in light of the progression of the COVID-19 pandemic. This means you will be able to watch and participate from wherever you are.
