An Interpol award-winner, he developed a pioneering anti-counterfeit model to launch globally in 2025. Appointed by the Police Minister to expand Counterfeit Units nationwide, he continues leading high-risk, high-impact operations with distinction, extending his service until 2028.

Pieter-Louis Myburgh is an award-winning investigative journalist and author of The Republic of Gupta and Gangster State. Known for exposing major corruption scandals like #Guptaleaks, Prasa’s tall trains, and Digital Vibes, he works with Daily Maverick’s Scorpio team. His fearless reporting continues to shape South Africa’s fight against state capture and political malfeasance.
