3rd Protection of Personal Information Conference

Intelligence Transfer Centre is hosting the 3rd Protection of Personal Information Conference, set to take place on 26, 27 & 28 February 2019, Indaba Hotel, Fourways, Johannesburg. 

The speaker faculty will focus on how to adequately prepare for the implementation of the POPI Act, necessary compliance processes and being in alignment with international standards for protecting information of clients, employee and stakeholders.

The conference will commence with a presentation from Candice Sutherland,

Cyber Insurance Underwriter, iTOO SPECIAL RISKS (In association with Hollard) who will unpack cyber crime from an Insurance perspective. Dr. Peter Tobin, Founding Director of the Peter Tobin Consultancy (PTC) will provide an interactive half-day workshop session on cyber security risk assessment project for POPIA & GDPR compliance. Among others, a presentation on assessing the practical measures to be taken in respect of managing data breaches will be delivered by Tsakani Mthethwa, Specialist Information Security from Barclays Africa Group.

Some of the key issues to be discussed at the conference include, unpacking the 8 pillars of compliance within POPI, crafting a dynamic POPIA implementation roadmap and case studies on how the new protection of personal of information will affect business.
