2nd Involve seminar focuses on maximising returns in the life assurance Industry
SDT Financial Software Solutions is to host its second Involve seminar at Emperors Palace in Johannesburg on 25 September.
The 2006 Involve conference, that was well attended by delegates from across South Africa and Africa, laid a platform for meaningful discussions around the life assurance industry. The conference offered delegates an opportunity to gather information about the industry and knowledge on how to change current business models.
The theme for the 2007 Involve seminar is maximising returns and the next steps the life assurance industry needs to take to make that happen. The seminar aims to create a balanced view, helping attendees to understand what has to be done to maximise their own returns as well as those of policyholders, draw a roadmap to achieving success, and address the issue of how to face the change and how to achieve it quickly while retaining focus on core business.
"The seminar will act as a discussion and debate platform to provide delegates with the opportunity to gather information and learn new strategies," says Freda du Toit, executive director of SDT Financial Software Solutions and creator of the Involve seminar. Our market research indicated a need in the industry to further the discussion on cost savings in order to maximise returns for policyholders, shareholders and employees.
The discussions started at the 2006 conference will continue at the 2007 Involve seminar, along with other key issues such as:
* What is enterprise architecture and what value does it provide?
* What are the cost drivers in life assurance?
* Internet and mobile communications, technologies and possibilities;
* Technology challenges in underprivileged communities?
* Life assurance industry lessons from abroad; and
* Industry reform - challenges in the life assurance industry
The purpose of the seminar is to stimulate new ideas in the industry, assist players to break free of rigid thinking and empower them to broaden perspectives on issues and trends in the market.
The conference features speakers such as:
* Clem Sunter, world-renowned scenario planner and co-author of The Mind of a Fox;
* Professor Louis Fourie, University of the Western Cape;
* Nazeer Hoosen, Deputy Chairman Life Offices Association;
