Top investment performer scoops three Raging Bulls

28 January 2016 Autus Fund Managers

Annual Raging Bull awards ceremony held in Cape Town on 27 January 2016 not one but three of the unit trust funds managed by Autus Fund Managers received Raging Bull Award Certificates. The winning funds recognised for their straight performance over 3 years calculated to the end of December 2015 are the;

• Autus BCI Balanced Fund - Best SA Multi Asset High Equity fund
• Autus BCI Stable Fund - Best SA Multi Asset Low Equity fund
• Autus BCI Opportunity Fund - Best SA Multi Asset Flexible fund

This is the second year in a row that the Autus BCI Opportunity Fund received this award. According to ASISA, the Multi Asset High Equity and Multi Asset Low Equity funds combined make up more than 40% of the Retail unit trust savings market and are used by clients and advisors for Regulation 28 retirement fund savings. The Autus BCI Balanced Fund was 1st out of 123 funds and the Autus BCI Stable Fund was 1st out of 64 funds in their respective categories.

An overjoyed Christo Malan, Portfolio Manager at Autus Fund Managers, expressed his appreciation at receiving the awards, commenting that Autus had a dedicated and committed investment team focussed on delivering consistent long-term performance for their clients that outpaced inflation. Malan said that while this statement seemed clichéd, he was delighted that the results spoke for themselves. The unit trust industry has grown significantly from assets under management of around R250 billion in 2005 to close to R2 trillion in 2015. “The number of fund management participants in the market has also grown over the past ten years making it exceptionally difficult to stand above so many good money managers” said Malan. “Our sole objective is to do the best for our clients and to deliver on our mandates consistently; so while we take a moment savour the awards and recognition, this is the past and we are already focussing on the difficult year that lies ahead” stated Malan.
