Standard Online Share Trading/Stockbroking wins prestigious Intellidex Top Stockbroker award

22 September 2020 Standard Bank

Standard Bank’s Online Share Trading /Stockbroking division has won the prestigious Intellidex Top Stockbroker of the Year award – the leading assessment of the industry – for the sixth time since the inception of the awards in 2010.

Held virtually on Monday, 21 September, the award is based on a survey of more than 6,500 investors and traders as well as an assessment by a panel of Intellidex analysts. The awards are the most definitive barometer of the health of South Africa’s stockbroking sector and an independent yardstick for quality.

Local investors continue searching for access to offshore markets, yield enhancement as well as solutions that are efficient, sophisticated, and secure. The bank remains resolute in providing innovative digital solutions to suit a wide range of investment objectives.

Standard’s suite of offerings allows investors to actively transact on a wide range of both JSE-listed, offshore and OTC products, and the team ensures solutions continually evolve to add more choice within investment portfolios. “What has particularly impressed us over the years of conducting this survey is that Standard OST never ceases to evolve, adapting to changing market conditions but also looking to improve the customer experience,” the report stated.

“We are thrilled to have received the award this year. We’re very grateful to our clients for placing their faith in us and we look forward to continuing to enhance our offering to meet their needs in the years to come,” said Mark Humphreys, Head of Online Share Trading at Standard Bank.

Over the eleven years since the survey originated, Standard Bank has firmly established itself, winning the maiden award in 2010, and again in 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018 and now in 2020, finishing second every other year. According to the report, “the outcome is a stockbroker with an extremely powerful offering for every archetype, from the young saver at the one end to an extremely impressive family office offering for wealthy families”.

Earlier in 2020, SBG Securities, which is part of the Standard Bank Group and publishes financial market research, also placed first at the Financial Mail Top Analyst Awards for the fifth successive year, maintaining its lead over international firms.
