Old Mutual Investment Group has clinched two esteemed awards at the Africa Asset Management Performance Awards that took place at the Vineyard Hotel in Cape Town last Thursday. The Old Mutual Investors Fund and the Futuregrowth Infrastructure & Development Bond Fund were both recognised in separate categories for their ranking as heavyweights of sub-Saharan Africa’s fund management space.
The annual awards ceremony seeks to acknowledge and reward investment professionals across the region who are making significant performance contributions to the industry owing to the successful management of their respective funds.
The Old Mutual Investors Fund beat a number of competing funds to be chosen as the winner in the SA Equity Fund (Long-term Performance) category. The fund is the longest-running established fund in the country and the accolade comes after decades of helping customers achieve their long-term financial goals.
The award for best SA Fixed Income Fund (Long-term Performance) for the Futuregrowth Infrastructure & Development Bond Fund is the latest in the boutique’s continued winning streak, following recognition for Bond Manager of the Year and Socially Responsible Investment Manager of the Year, both awarded earlier this year.
Speaking after the event, Old Mutual Investment Group CEO, Diane Radley, expressed pride in the funds’ awards and congratulated fund managers, Andrew Canter and Jason Lightfoot (Futuregrowth) and Peter Linley (Old Mutual Equities). "Our focus o¬n delivering o¬n the promises we make to our customers consistently over long periods, is recognised through these awards,” she said.
A number of other funds were shortlisted for possible awards.
