Old Mutual Investment Group has been named as Best Managed Company in the Financial Services Sector, as well as winning the headline award for Best Managed Company of the Year at the Top 500 Awards 2018.

The Top 500 Awards select its recipients from the leading and most prestigious South African companies based on stringent performance criteria.

Managing Director for the Old Mutual Wealth and Investment Cluster, Dave Macready said that this accolade was particularly significant for the business.

“Winning these awards is testament to the fact that not only is Old Mutual Investment Group a great place to work, but it is a home for world class talent and intellectual property,” said Macready. “Our responsible business culture and ethos is driven by our unique ownership model through our boutique structure, which encourages an entrepreneurial spirit and ultimately aligns our staff and the business with the outcomes of our customers.”

Macready adds that Old Mutual Investment Group is a leader when it comes to Responsible Investing in South Africa. “Our business is an active steward of capital through the driving of low-carbon, resource-efficient and financially inclusive outcomes and ensures that good governance is an absolute necessity for long-term performance.

“Our people make this happen, and it is our talent, performance and passion for client investment outcomes that are key factors in ensuring Old Mutual Investment Group is a leading investment manager in South Africa.”

Macready added that the timing of the award could not have been better given that Old Mutual Limited, the holding company of Old Mutual Investment Group, is listing on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange on the 26th of June 2018.
