Glen Mukheiber and Associates in Port Elizabeth took top honours in the Old Mutual Personal Financial Advice and Private Wealth Management Practice of the Year competition for financial advisers in 2010.

The aim is to honour practices in Old Mutual that stand out in the delivery of professional advice and services to customers – those who set standards that are recognised within the industry as best business practice.

This year’s competition was closely fought but in summing up Glen’s practice, the independent judges from Celestis Broker Services said, “ Mukheibir and Associates is a General Practice with a particularly well established client base and substantial assets under management”. The competition has been running for two years and Glen is the second national winner.

Glen adds, “Our practice prides itself on its service levels and in the specialisation of financial solutions that it offers to clients. We have a very strong focus on business clients and pension and provident fund business. In conducting our business operations, the practice strives to deliver a “Wow Experience” to its clients as well as enabling positive futures.”

Achieving excellence in the financial services industry in 2010 is more challenging than ever before, given the turbulence in the financial markets, increased regulation and economic downturn. Those practices that achieve their goals have overcome these strenuous demands of the last few years to reach the top.

Financial advisers must meet certain standards of Old Mutual in order to enter the competition and based on practice assessments three finalists are selected per region. Each of these finalists is then audited by independent judges and regional winners and a national winner are chosen.

A particular focus of Old Mutual’s competition is the practice’s client value proposition, operational efficiency and advice and services offered to clients.
