Momentum has been named as top administrator in SA healthcare, scooping the prestigious Diamond Arrow Award (highest rated) in the 9th Annual Professional Management Review (PMR) Africa National Healthcare Administrators’ survey.

The PMR Awards celebrate excellence in South African business and are based on the results achieved in annual research surveys across a range of industry sectors.

Interviews were conducted with a random sample of 135 human resource directors, managers and senior managers dealing directly with employee medical aids. Interviews took place during October, November and December 2011.

Momentum Medical Scheme Administrators obtained a mean score of 4.13 out of a possible 5.00.

Respondents were asked to measure administrators across a range of 27 attributes, with a strong focus on evaluating and measuring customer service and customer satisfaction. These range from access to appropriate medical aid administration personnel, accuracy, flexibility, adjudication of claims, call centre and IT, cost containment, innovation, efficiency, problem-resolution capabilities, as well as value for money.

Damian McHugh, Head of Marketing and Sales for Momentum Health, said the company was thrilled with the accolade, which he said demonstrated the company’s continued dedication to customer service.

“We are deeply gratified to have been recognised by consumers for our commitment to great service delivery, value for money and innovation. Our recent customer satisfaction index reflected a satisfaction in excess of 90% since June 2011 (a record seven consecutive months. ”

In 2011 Momentum also received a Silver Arrow Award, and in 2009 and 2010, Momentum Health was awarded second place as top medical scheme in the TNS Sunday Times Top Brands survey. The Scheme furthermore boasts an A+ rating from the independent Global Credit Rating Agency, underlining its strong claims paying ability.
