Franklin Templeton Investments wins four Raging Bull awards for offshore investing success

The Franklin US Opportunities Fund2 garnered two awards for Best (FSB-Approved) Offshore USA Equity General Fund, the certificates celebrated Top Performance by a Foreign (non-Rand-denominated) Collective Investment Scheme – three years and Top Performance on the Basis of Risk-Adjusted Returns by a Foreign (non-Rand denominated) Collective Investment Scheme – five years.

Both the Templeton Euroland Fund and Templeton Eastern Europe Fund took top honours in the FSB-approved Offshore Europe Equity General Fund categories. Templeton Euroland Fund gained Top Performance on the Basis of Risk-Adjusted Returns by a Foreign (non-Rand denominated) Collective Investment Scheme – five years and the Templeton Eastern Europe Fund was recognised for Top Performance by a Foreign (non-Rand-denominated) Collective Investment Scheme – three years.

The Franklin US Opportunities Fund invests mainly in equity securities issued by companies of any size located in, or doing significant business in, the U.S. The Fund’s mandate is to provide investors with exposure to leading companies in their respective fields that meet the investment criteria of Growth, Quality and Valuation. The Fund is managed by Grant Bowers and Sara Araghi, portfolio managers, Franklin Equity Group and currently has over $3.2 billion in assets under management as of December 31, 2017.

The Templeton Euroland Fund aims to achieve long-term capital appreciation by investing mainly in equity and debt securities of European Monetary Union member country governments and companies with at least 75% of its assets in equity securities issued by companies which have their head office in the European Union. The Fund is managed by Dylan Ball, Heather Arnold & Peter Moeschter, portfolio managers, Templeton Global Equity Group. The fund has over €455 million in assets under management as of December 31, 2017 and this is the fifth consecutive year that it has been recognised as best fund in the FSB-approved Offshore Europe Equity General Fund category at the Raging Bull Awards.

Templeton Eastern Europe Fund aims to increase the value of its investments over the medium to long term investing mainly in equity securities issued by companies of any size located in, or doing significant business in, Eastern Europe and countries formerly part of the Soviet Union. The investment team uses in-depth financial analysis to select individual securities that it believes are undervalued and will provide the best opportunities for increased value over the long term.
