Discovery takes top honours at Sunday Times Top Brands Awards

Discovery was awarded top honours at the 20th annual Sunday Times Top Brands Awards held on Wednesday 24 October 2018, in Johannesburg.

Discovery Health Medical Scheme (DHMS) received the Grand Prix award as the 2018 Overall Favourite Brand in the Business category. DHMS was also awarded first place in the medical aid category for the ninth consecutive year.


“DHMS exists for its members. Our mandate is clear, our purpose is to care for the health and wellness of our members now and in the future, so we are delighted that they have voted us their favourite brand,” says Dr Nozipho Sangweni, Principal Officer of Discovery Health Medical Scheme.


Discovery Insure was recognised as a favourite consumer brand by being awarded first place in the short-term insurance category.


“We are proud to be recognized as one of South Africa’s most-loved brands by the Sunday Times Top Brands Awards,” says Firoze Bhorat, Discovery’s Chief Marketing Officer.
