Camargue has again been voted Top PI/Liability UMA in the PMR.africa national survey on Underwriting Managers (UMAs) in South Africa. A hat trick for the Group, it received the highest ratings in the Professional Indemnity Cover category, with a mean score of 4.15 out of a possible 5.00.
The results were based on telephonic interviews with a random national sample of 120 directors, senior managers, and short term underwriting managers selected from short term broker firms and insurance companies. The respondents were invited to evaluate and rate companies on 11 attributes, including: Adaptability; Attitude; Competence; Confidence level of the underwriter; Financial strength of the underwriter; Full authorisation to accept/agree claim; Innovativeness; Know-how of advisors; Quality; Reputation (i.e. perception of the company’s brand, integrity, CSI; and Speed of processing.
The respondents also provided verbatim comments on the perceived strengths and weaknesses of the companies they rated. It should be noted that ratings were based on perceptions - not on the company’s financials.
Accepting the coveted Diamond Arrow Award at the awards breakfast this week, Camargue Managing Director, Mitch Marescia said: “I am very proud of Team Camargue. It’s the collective efforts of everyone in our Group that secured this award for us once again. In an industry that is increasingly competitive, we are pleased that our excellence and innovation has been recognised. It’s indeed an honour to stand among the other prestigious brands included in the line-up; all industry frontrunners deserving of their award.”
