ASI Financial Services is named Bonitas Broker of the Year

Last year saw the launch of the Bonitas Medical Fund ‘Broker Awards’, a big ‘shout out’ to the brokers, financial advisors and brokerages in recognition of the important role they play and the contribution made to the Scheme’s growth. Recently the second Broker Award event was held at a gala dinner, when ASI Financial Services took home two of the top awards: Broker of the Year (2023) and Best Net Growth in 2023.

Principal Officer, Lee Callakoppen, said that, as a Scheme, they pride themselves on partnering with top providers in the industry. ‘The calibre of brokerages shortlisted for these awards is unequivocally the best in the business. Each of our winners demonstrates the attitude necessary to drive a high-performance culture and embrace the necessary drive and tenacity to exceed all expectations.

‘The knowledge and wisdom you share with your clients has gone a long way to empowering them to make informed decisions which have a tangible impact on their health and wellbeing – both at an individual and corporate level. We appreciate and value the time you take and lengths you go through to educate your clients. We place great emphasis on providing you with benefits, products and options designed to meet the needs of South Africans from all walks of life. Very importantly also pitched at a competitive price-point to offer value in these challenging economic times.’

Callakoppen outlined the criteria when determining the winners, which includes actuarial analysis. He also mentioned how competitive the field has become and that more awards were being presented – a total of 24 – some to past winners but also new entrants. The Awards included Top Broker of the Year and the Most Sustainable Book. The Broker Performance Awards – segmented into four tiers: Bronze, silver gold and platinum – recognise performance, based on new principal members signed up during 2023.

‘I would like to thank and congratulate everyone for their dedication and hard work, especially during these trying economic times,’ said Callakoppen. ‘Every contribution is invaluable, especially when we consider that average age of our new members is around 15 years younger than the current membership.’
