Alexander Forbes wins big at the Bonitas Broker Awards.
The inaugural Bonitas Medical Fund Broker Awards were held last month, in recognition of the important role brokers play in educating and assisting members choose the right medical scheme for their healthcare needs. In addition, the Awards highlighted the brokerage’s contribution to the Scheme’s growth over the past year.
Awards ranged from Top Broker of the Year to the Most Sustainable Book as well as Broker Performance Awards. The latter recognised performance based on new principal members signed up - and were in four tiers, namely: Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum.
Alexander Forbes scored a hat trick by taking home the coveted Broker of the Year for 2022, Top Broker of the Year and Best Net Growth. The brokerage also won the Platinum Brokerage Award.
‘Brokers are an integral part of our business,’ says Lee Callakoppen, Principal Officer. ‘We work closely with them to ensure they are kept up-to-date on business developments, new products, changes to benefits, DSPs and so on. We also host regular broker roadshows and have a dedicated broker portal on our website to ease the two-way communication stream.
‘A careful and intrinsic level of actuarial analysis went into determining the winners of these awards – each with its own set of criteria,’ explained Callakoppen.
‘We congratulate and thank everyone for their hard work over the past year, in very difficult circumstances when South Africans are under particular financial stress. Everyone’s contributions are extremely valuable, especially if you take into consideration that the average age of our new members is around 15 years younger than the current membership.’
