Argon Asset Management was recently named the Best Absolute Returns Manager for 2015 by the retirement fund industry. This is according to the BATSETA (The Council of Retirement Funds for South Africa) Imbasa Yegolide Awards.

The prestigious Imbasa Yegolide Awards Ceremony took place on 01 June 2015 in Johannesburg. It aims to recognise service providers that have given excellent service to retirement funds.

On receipt of the award, Mothobi Seseli, Chief Executive Officer of Argon Asset Management commented, “We wish to thank BATSETA for recognising us and congratulate our peers on their respective awards. At Argon, we are delighted to have received this acknowledgement of our excellent service to retirement funds, especially because the industry is so competitive.”

The BATSETA Best Absolute Returns Manager Award is the latest in a series of accolades for Argon Asset Management. The company recently won a global award for Excellence in Asset Management and Corporate Social Investment (CSI) Africa at the IAIR Excellence in Global Economy and Sustainability Awards held in Milan, Italy.

“In an environment where many asset managers are struggling with performance, awards like these help us to create broader and deeper awareness of our capability and investment credentials. We have tested our approach, processes and business against global investment management standards and have found that we are indeed meeting and outperforming these. But above all else, at Argon, our inflexible values and duty of care to our clients and our role as custodians of their wealth comes first.” concluded Seseli.

Argon Asset Management manages ZAR 28 billion and as just one part of their strategy to provide clients with an African investment firm with global standards, has developed an exclusive institutional relationship to share ideas and learning with a longstanding global asset manager, Schroders, a London Stock Exchange listed investment management firm.
