Accolades rain on Medscheme at PMR Awards

Medscheme, the largest health risk management services provider and the third largest medical scheme administrator in South Africa dominated the 2014 PMR Awards scooping an impressive 14 awards, underlining its position as the country’s foremost managed healthcare firm.

Medscheme won seven prestigious Diamond Arrow awards for excellence in Chronic Medication Management, Counselling of High Claimers, Disease Management - Asthma, Diabetes, Health Risk Assessments, Managed Radiology Programme, Technology Services & Electronic Medicine Management and Disease Management in HIV/AIDS, all for managed healthcare companies specialising in 10 or more specialists’ services. 

The five Golden Arrow awards were in Alternative Fee Structure Reimbursement, Hospital Utilisation Management, Managed Oncology Programme, Managed Pathology Programme Management of Specialists and General practitioners, all for managed healthcare companies specialising in 10 or more specialists’ services. 

Medscheme also picked up two Silver Awards for Managed Dental Programme and the Wellness Programme for managed healthcare companies specialising in 10 or more specialists’ services. 

Medscheme Chief Executive Officer, Kevin Aron welcomed the seven  diamond, five  gold and two silver awards as confirmation that the healthcare company was at the leading edge in advancing medical progress to improve the health on the continent.

The PMR Awards are a celebration of excellence and contribution by South African companies in various business categories and are based on an annual research survey conducted with over 30 000 top decision makers in South African business. Companies in the Managed Healthcare category were measured on: Product Offering, Value Added Innovation, Accessibility, Problem Solving, Speed of Service, Reliability, Communication, Cost Controllability, Administration and IT systems. Medscheme was rated as one of the top providers of Managed Healthcare.
