Clint Hess has been appointed to the position of Chief Marketing Officer at Zurich Insurance Company South Africa from 1 June 2012.

Clint’s career spans a variety of industries, ranging from financial services to fast moving consumer goods where he was responsible for delivering growth strategies on global brands in South Africa. He has received international recognition for excellence and was awarded the first ever Diageo Africa award for innovation and best practice.

Most recently, Clint was Head of Specialist and Commercial Lines Marketing at Santam, where he played a leading role in the brand’s repositioning and relaunch exercise. In particular, his experience in strategic end to end marketing and stakeholder relationship management in his role as acting Head of Corporate Affairs at Santam, means he will add significant value to growing and leading Zurich’s Marketing and Communications function.

In this role, Clint reports to Edwyn O’Neill, CEO of Zurich South Africa and joins the Executive Team.

Zurich Insurance Company South Africa, a leading global insurer, has recently appointed Robert Hodgkiss to the position of Head of Risk Engineering effective 1 July 2012.

Robert owned and acted as a Director for SA Risk Solutions, a business that focused on the provision of Risk Engineering services. This significant experience is supported by the high number of certificated courses relating to both Insurance and Risk Engineering that he has successfully completed. Robert is also fully FAIS compliant for commercial insurance matters and brings a wealth of expertise to a critical role in the Underwriting environment.

Zurich Insurance Company South Africa, a leading global insurer, has appointed Sedick Isaacs as National Head of Market Underwriting effective 1 June 2012.

Sedick joined Zurich at an important time in the company’s journey towards profitable growth in which he will play an important role. He is an Associate of the Insurance Institute and coupled with his wide range of experience spanning strategy, underwriting, product development and, more recently, claims, makes Sedick a valuable addition to the leadership team.

Lynette Weideman joined as Portfolio Head of Personal and Motor insurance effective 11 June 2012. She has 30 years of experience in the industry, of which the last 10 years was as General Manager within the Hollard Insurance Group. Having qualified as an Associate of the Insurance Institute of South Africa, Lynette is currently studying towards her Fellowship qualification.

Petra Fordyce has been appointed to the position of Portfolio Head of Marine effective 11 June 2012. Her 30 years in the industry, coupled with her prior experience most recently with Santam where she specialised in Marine Insurance, brings to Zurich a vast amount of knowledge and expertise.
