As part of the company’s strategic growth and direction, Zurich Insurance Company South Africa, a leading global insurer is delighted to announce the following senior appointments.

Appointment: Chief Operating Officer

With effect from 1 May 2013, Collin Molepe joins Zurich as the new Chief Operations Officer (COO).
With a wealth of experience in financial services and strategy implementation, Collin joins Zurich South Africa from Absa Insurance Company where he successfully implemented a number of transformational projects relating to procurement, technology and efficiencies as well as claims cost controls. Prior to that, Collin was a Divisional Manager at Discovery Health. Collin completed various executive management programmes through UNISA and UCT Graduate School of Business between 1995 and 2006.

Appointment: Chief Marketing Officer

Not new to the Zurich team with previous input into the strategic direction of the Company, Nicholas Francis fills the position of Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), effective 1 June 2013. Nicholas joined Zurich in June 2012 prior to which he worked at Absa Insurance Company and AIG where he gained a vast amount of insurance experience particularly in Accident & Health and Travel Insurance.

Appointment: Group Company Secretary

Tammy Heydenrych, a qualified attorney, assumes the role of Group Company Secretary effective 1 July 2013. Tammy previously held the position of Senior Group Legal Advisor in 2010 and was subsequently appointed as the Assistant Group Company Secretary. She is also the Company Secretary for Zurich South Africa’s local subsidiaries, Zurich Life SA Limited and Zurich Risk Financing SA Limited.

Appointment: General Counsel

Seef Botha has been appointed to the position of General Counsel effective 1 July 2013. A qualified attorney, Seef joined Zurich in September 2010 as Senior Compliance Officer. In his role as General Counsel, Seef will take ownership of the legal, compliance and forensics functions. Prior to joining Zurich, Seef worked as a Specialist Legal Advisor and Compliance Consultant in a private capacity.
