Zurich appoints new Head of Property

Zurich Insurance Company South Africa, a leading global insurer, is pleased to announce the appointment of Simon Robinson as Head of Property in Zurich’s Global Corporate Division with effect from 19 May 2014.
Simon has 24 years’ experience in short-term insurance underwriting for Global Corporate customers. He joins Zurich from Allianz Global Corporate and Specialty SA where he held the position of Senior Underwriter Property.
Simon began his career at Allianz Versicherungs AG, Hamburg, Germany in 1984. He spent most of his working life in Germany holding various leadership positions there and in the United Kingdom before taking up his most recent role in South Africa.
"Simon’s extensive industry expertise will help to support Zurich’s ambitious growth targets. His prime focus is on South African business. This also extends to business from the sub-Saharan region that is placed via South Africa. He brings with him a wide range of general and senior management experience along with a passion for service excellence,” says Christoph Leuzinger, Executive Head: Global Corporate, Zurich South Africa.
