Zurich Insurance Company South Africa, a leading local global short-term insurance provider, is pleased to announce the appointment of Bilal Bux to the position of National Marine Manager.

Bilal joined Zurich in 2008 as a Broker Manager in Durban and subsequently moved to Johannesburg as a Marine Technical Underwriter. Bilal is not new to the insurance industry. With 17 years experience and having previously worked at Alexander Forbes, Bilal has handled extremely complex marine claims. His ability to understand and manage people, together with his experience has enabled him to conduct in-depth Marine training which has earned him respect amongst the broker community.

As Marine Head at Zurich, Bilal reports directly to Chris Grieve, Executive Head of Sales and Market Underwriting who said: “With such vast knowledge and experience in the industry, we are delighted to have Bilal head up our team. Although not new to Zurich, his experience will prove invaluable. We wish him well in his new role and look forward to his leadership in this area.”

Commenting on his new role, Bilal Bux said: “Zurich has been a leader in marine insurance dating back to 1917. I look forward to developing my role as Head of Marine and to the great opportunities that await during these exciting times.”
