Zurich South Africa is pleased to announce the appointment of Mercia Wallis as Head of Motor and Personal Lines.

Mercia has over 19 years’ experience in the insurance industry. Having started her career at Santam in 1994, Mercia moved to Mutual & Federal where she managed the acceptance of Personal Lines policies and surveyed new business and risk management for both Commercial and Personal Lines. 

When an opportunity arose at IEMAS, Mercia embraced it and in this role was named the "Short Term Insurance Manager of the Year” in 2005. She was appointed Risk Manager: Customer Service and Underwriting at Hollard in 2006; Technical Underwriting Manager some 15 months later and, in 2008, returned to the Santam fold.
