Niche insurer specialising in the commercial and industrial space, Western National Insurance, is pleased to welcome three short-term stalwarts to its team. With more than 60 years’ experience collectively in the short-term insurance industry, the new members bring with them a wealth of knowledge, including specialist skills that will boost the Western National Insurance offering.
Marcel de Jager joins the team as Head of Engineering, a newly established division of the Western National Insurance brand. He has over a decade of short-term insurance experience in management roles and has in excess of 17 years’ experience in the engineering industry, specialising in project management, solution delivery, business analysis and strategic planning.
His qualifications include a National Diploma in Civil Engineering and a Certificate in Civil Engineering and Construction Contract Law, making him expertly qualified for his new role.
Nicolene Reinders has been working in insurance since 1989, for the most part on the broking side of the industry. With some administrative background, a strong interest and experience in management and training of staff in the commercial insurance sector, she joins Western National Insurance as the Regional Head of Sales for the Southern Region.
Jan-Hendrik Botha joins the team as Regional Manager for the Southern Region. With his career in short-term insurance dating back to 1997, starting out as a commercial underwriter working nationally, gaining great exposure to all aspects of broking and the insurance market, he brings a broad skillset and expertise.
“Western National Insurance prides itself on its relationships partnering with brokers and being able to offer trusted, excellent service. A solid management team that now includes three strong new assets only helps us continue to operate well, and we welcome them, and look forward to a positive 2019 and many more years ahead,” says Jurgen Hellweg, CEO of Western National Insurance.
