Pierre Burger has been appointed as a Senior Associate in the litigation department at Werksmans Attorneys.

History

Pierre was admitted as an attorney in Cape Town in 2001 and practised there for five years (excluding a brief sabbatical in 2002 when he worked in the parliamentary office of the leader of the opposition as a speechwriter, researcher, legislative draftsman and legal adviser) before joining Werksmans as a senior associate in the litigation department in July 2006.

Pierre is experienced in general commercial and civil litigation, and has acted, amongst others, for a wide range of private corporations, parastatal and government bodies. He has an interest in constitutional and administrative law, and has successfully prosecuted matters in the Constitutional Court and the Equality Courts.
