The Medscheme Group has announced the appointment of Wallace Holmes to the position of Financial Director for JSE-listed holding company AfroCentric Investment Corporation (AfroCentric).
Holmes will also retain his other two positions as Financial Director for both Medscheme and Lethimvula Investments.
Through AfroCentric Investment Corporation, Medscheme is the largest black-owned healthcare administration company listed on the JSE. AfroCentric acquired a 63.2% shareholding in Lethimvula Investments Limited two years ago and has since increased its stake to 83% with the balance held by public shareholders.
The AfroCentric board includes Motty Sacks, Brian Joffe, Meyer Kahn and Nomhle Canca. Key figures in Lethimvula are chairman Dr Anna Mokgokong, entrepreneur Joe Madungandaba and CEO Dewald Dempers.
