Santam announces new appointments to head up Broker Services North and Agriculture

Santam, South Africa’s leading short-term insurer has announced two new appointments, both with immediate effect.

Riaan Louw is to fill the role of Head; Broker Services North, formerly held by Tobias Doyer. Gerhard Diedericks, former Head of Business Development has been appointed as the new Head of Santam Agriculture.

Doyer will be leaving the company to pursue personal interests.

Originally from Namibia, Riaan has been with Santam for more than 23 years and previously held the position of CEO of Santam Namibia. Gerhard has been with the company for 28 years and brings invaluable knowledge to the agriculture business in Santam.

“We welcome Riaan and Gerhard to their exciting new roles” says Edward Gibbens, Executive Head, Broker Distribution, “and we are confident they will continue to thrive at Santam.”

Gibbens adds, “As our industry faces challenging times, we expect Riaan and Gerhard, who are already part of our very strong leadership team, to help us remain the top insurer in the market by continuing to contribute their sound expertise and impeccable insurance skills to the business.”

Santam Agriculture will also now form part of the Specialist Business division of Santam.
