Sanlam Corporate Investments announces appointment of new Managing Executive

Sanlam Corporate has announced the appointment of John Anderson as Managing Executive of Sanlam Corporate Investments, effective 1 August 2025.

Anderson, a seasoned executive with more than 24 years of experience in the employee benefits and asset management industry, will lead the business as it continues to deliver value to clients and drive long-term growth.

He joins Sanlam Corporate from Alexforbes, where he served as Executive: Solutions & Enablement and was a member of the Group Executive Committee. Prior to this, he held senior leadership roles at Sygnia Asset Management and other prominent institutions.

Anderson holds a B.Com Honours (Actuarial) degree and is a Fellow of both the Actuarial Society of South Africa and the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries. He also serves on the Pension Benefits and Social Security Board of the International Actuarial Association, where he contributes to global developments in retirement and social security systems.

An industry thought leader, Anderson has co-authored award-winning, internationally recognised research on optimal investment strategies for retirement and sustainability practices. More recently, he led the development of a climate change toolkit for retirement funds, released by the Actuarial Society of Actuaries, aimed at empowering professionals in the sector to achieve more sustainable outcomes for members.
