Sanlam appoints new chief executive of SPF Actuarial

Sanlam Personal Finance (SPF) has appointed Anton Gildenhuys as chief executive of SPF Actuarial. Gildenhuys, a qualified actuary, previously held the position of chief executive of SPF Strategic Business Development.

Lizé Lambrechts, chief executive of SPF, said, “Over the past 13 years Gildenhuys has played an integral part in diversifying and growing Sanlam Personal Finance. Equipped with solid experience and in-depth knowledge of SPF, he is perfectly suited to carry out this pivotal role in our business.”

Gildenhuys was a Sanlam bursary student and joined Sanlam in January 1997 as a consultant at Financial Management. He was subsequently appointed to the positions of valuations actuary, development actuary, head of Product Development and chief executive of Strategic Business Development.

Lambrechts said Gildenhuys would also retain his responsibility for Sanlam Healthcare Management. Gildenhuys replaces Joubert Ferreira who will be taking up a position in the United Kingdom.
