Astute FSE, the company that provides data integration services to the South African financial services industry, has announced the appointment of Riaan Dreyer as chairman with effect from 1 March 2011.

He succeeded Hennie de Villiers who, after four years as chairman of Astute, decided to hand over the reins. Mr de Villiers remains as a non-executive director on the Astute Board.

Riaan Dreyer, previously a non-executive director on the Astute board, has a Masters Degree in Information Technology (Cum Laude), a BCom (Hons) in Economics and a B Com in Actuarial Science. He is currently employed by Liberty Group where he is mandated to ensure that business change initiatives are executed in line with strategy.

Our thanks to Hennie for his contribution during a period when Astute developed rapidly both in terms of size and expansion into new markets.”
