Prescient appoints new head of equities
Prescient Investment Management has announced the appointment of Eugene Chemaly as Head of Equities.
Chemaly joins Prescient from Afrifocus Securities where has was a quantitative research analyst. He has also worked as head of investments at Stanlib Index Solutions and as head of quantitative research at SCMB Asset Management.
Chemaly started his career as an engineer at Mintek after graduating from Stellenbosch Univeristy with a B Eng (chemical engineering) degree. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).

Prescient appoints David Williams to drive Retail Business Development initiatives in Gauteng
Prescient Investment Management has announced the appointment of David Williams as Retail Business Development Investment Consultant in the Gauteng Region.
Williams worked previously at Legal & General Investment Management in the UK as strategic development manager where he was involved in the development of a range of liability-driven investment funds.
Prior to that, he was a management consultant contracted with Morgan Stanley in the UK and an associate director at Lonkal Cunsulting, also in the UK, where his responsibilities included advising trustees of defined benefit pension schemes on, amongst others, risk policy, funding and asset allocation strategy.
Williams also worked for Mercer (UK) as an investment analyst focused on risk and investment advisory, analytics and manager research.
In June 2002, he began his career in finance and investment consulting as an accountant at Liberty Specialised Investments before joining STANLIB Multi-Manager as a portfolio manager, after which he worked at Norton derivatives developing and implementing structured product solutions for independent financial advisers (IFA’s).
A Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Williams holds an MSc, Finance degree from the London Business School, and a BA Honours degree from Rhodes University.
