Novare Equity Partners, the private equity business in the Novare Group, has announced two new appointments to its growing team.
Jared Halliday has been appointed Chief Operating Officer, and Dorette van der Westhuyzen has been appointed Accountant.
Novare Equity Partners is focused on the acquisition of strategically located urban real estate in sub-Saharan Africa, and on partnering with successful retailers as anchor tenants to develop retail property solutions that deliver superior investments to the market.
A business science graduate from the University of Cape Town, Mr Halliday started his career in 2007 after being selected for the Shoprite Real Estate Graduate programme. He was exposed to all aspects of retail property ranging from warehousing and property management, to leasing and property development in South Africa and across Africa.
Dorette van der Westhuyzen is a qualified Chartered Accountant, having completed her articles at Rademeyer Wesson in 2013. She will assist the Chief Financial Officer with the day-to-day financial operations and the underlying investments of Novare Equity Partners.
Novare’s private equity business has developed rapidly over recent years, employing a team with unrivalled expertise in sub-Saharan Africa in dealing with financial institutions and high-end project and property management and construction companies to mitigate construction and delivery risks.
