Novare Actuaries & Consultants grows fund management team

Phumlile Smith.

Novare Actuaries and Consultants, the investment consulting business providing specialist support to institutional clients in Southern Africa, has announced the appointment of Phumlile Smith as Fund Manager.

Ms Smith, who holds a BCom degree in Economics and Econometrics from the University of Johannesburg, started her career at First National Bank Corporate Account Services as a service specialist.

In 2009 she joined Alexander Forbes Financial Services and Alexander Forbes Life as an employee benefits consultant.

She continued in a similar role at ABSA Consultants and Actuaries in 2011 where her responsibilities included establishing and maintaining relationships with key decision-makers and boards of trustees. During this period she worked with the German Global Pension Fund Office for Mercedes Benz South Africa.

Ms Smith later joined Investment Solutions as a client servicing account manager responsible for client relationship management.

She joined Novare in October 2014 as a fund manager responsible for client fund management and relations, and is based in Johannesburg.
