Michael Salant
Heavy Commercial Vehicles Underwriting Managers (Pty) Ltd (HCV) welcomes Michael Salant as General Manager.
Michael joins HCV from Marsh (Pty) Ltd. where he was the Legal & Compliance Officer for the African region. His functions extended to the role of Technical Executive where he managed corporate insurance placements.
Michael has previously held managerial roles at Alexander Forbes and First Bowring.
After finishing his school career at King David Linksfield, Michael went to Wits where he studied Law and the Arts. He practiced as an admitted attorney for a brief period while completing his ACII.
Aside from Michael’s legal experience, he has also acquired 20 years corporate experience during which time he participated as a member of various industry bodies including that of SAFSIA, FIA and the Insurance & Investments Standards Generating Body.
Michael is drawn to HCV as he feels that truckers are hardworking, resilient people and believes in the huge contribution they make to the economy. He looks forward to living up to HCV’s promise of “caring for trucks and truckers”.
