New Directors at Deneys Reitz
Gabriel Meyer has been appointed a Director of Deneys Reitz where he works together with Africa Legal, the Africa focused division of the firm.Gabriel specialisesin cross-border M&A/private equity transactions and banking matters in Africa (including South Africa).Prior to his appointment Gabriel spent several years studying and working in Switzerland. Gabriel has an LLB from the University of Cape Townand is admitted as an attorney in South Africaand a solicitor in England and Wales.
Andrew Morrissey has been appointed a Director of Deneys Reitz and practices in the Litigation Department at the firm's Cape Town office. He focuses on insurance litigation. Andrew joined the firm as a Candidate Attorney in 2003. He holds the Bcom and LLB degrees.
Nzame Qokweni has been appointed a Director of Deneys Reitz. He is in the Banking and Finance Division at the firm's Johannesburg office.Nzame regularly advises domestic and international banking and finance clients on a range of finance and investment transactions. His emphasis is on secured lending and preference share funding transactions specifically in the area of acquisition finance transactions. His finance experience extends to capital markets issues and securitisations. Nzame holds a Bachelor of Laws degree.
Lance Roderick, an English Solicitor and a South African Attorney, has been appointed a Director of Deneys Reitz.Lanceis a member of Africa Legal, Deneys Reitz's pan-African division. He obtained a B.Comm in 1993 and an LLB in 1995, both from the University of Natal.Prior tojoining Africa Legal, Lance spent eight years working in London. He was a solicitor in the Financial Markets Department of Simmons & Simmons before joining The Royal Bank of Scotland Plc, where he was part of the legal team supporting an asset management subsidiary of the bank. Lance is a specialist in investment funds, particularly offshore hedge funds. He also practises in general corporate and commercial matters.
