Centriq has made the following new appointments:

JESSICA MUMBENGEGWI, SENIOR UNDERWRITER, CENTRIQ INSURANCE

Jessica obtained her B. Comm Hons in Insurance and Risk Management at the National University of Science & Technology (Zimbabwe) in 2004 and became a Certified Internal Auditor in 2010. She has 9 years experience in short-term insurance broking, claims broking and reinsurance broking. Before joining Centriq as Senior Underwriter recently, Jessica was Claims Administrator and Assistant Reinsurance Broker at Aon Benfield.

CORNEA MATTHEE, COMPLIANCE OFFICER, CENTRIQ INSURANCE

Cornea obtained her BComm.Law, LLB and LLM at the University of Stellenbosch. She practiced law as an admitted attorney for over five years where she gained experience in commercial and civil litigation and labour law . Cornea started her career in compliance three years ago as a team manager in the legal division of a financial services provider, where she gained valuable insight into the workings of short-term insurance. She was responsible for the monitoring of FAIS compliance, and provided legal support, developed internal processes and worked closely with other financial services providers. Recently appointed as the compliance officer for Centriq, Cornea aspires to become a specialist in compliance management and to maintain the compliance culture of Centriq.

ANTON VAN ROOIJEN, ACTUARY, CENTRIQ INSURANCE

Anton has a B.Sc in Mathematical Science (University of Johannesburg) and is a CERA (Chartered Enterprise Risk Actuary) and a Fellow of the Actuarial Society of South Africa (FASSA). Having worked at Marsh, Aon and Zurich before joining Centriq in the position of Actuary recently, Anton has over 9 years’ experience in the actuarial and insurance fields.

PASCALINE MASIPA, CLIENT ACCOUNTANT, CENTRIQ INSURANCE

Pascaline obtained her National Diploma in Cost and Management Accounting at the University of Johannesburg where she majored in Management Accounting and Financial Accounting. She started her career as a debtor’s clerk at SA Underwriters, where after she entered the manufacturing industry, working as a junior bookkeeper at Mazista Tiles. She found herself back in the insurance industry when she landed a financial administrator’s position at Hollard, where she was subsequently promoted to Client Accountant. Recently appointed as one of Centriq’s Client Accountants, Pascaline aspires to gain further experience in both short- and long-term insurance.
